Mid-week music pick: Sweet Lorraine’s

September 20, 2010

Later on this site, we’ll post an excerpt from our interview with C.P. Love, an R&B vocalist from New Orleans who was strongly influenced by the Mississippi-born “King of Soul,” Sam Cooke. For now, New Orleanians can catch him Sept. 22 at Sweet Lorraine’s Jazz Club, 1931 St. Claude Ave. The show starts at 9 p.m., and we promise you’ll groove on his fine voice.

Above is a sampling of C.P.’s music, thanks to his Reverbnation page. Just click the “play” button to listen. To learn more about C.P., check out this article by Jeff Hannusch.
